॥ एकम् सत्यम् विप्रा: बहुधा वदन्ति ॥

 

// Ekam satyam viprāḥ bahudhā vadanti //

 

“The Truth is ONE,
but the sages call it
by various names.”

 

Ṛg-Veda I.164-6

 

ज्ञातृज्ञानज्ञेयभेदः परे नात्मनि विद्यते
चिदानन्दैकरूपत्वाद्दीप्यते स्वयमेव हि ४१

 

jñātṛjñānajñeyabhedaḥ pare nātmani vidyate |
cid
ānandaikarūpatvāddīpyate svayameva hi || 41 ||

 

The are no distinctions such as, « knower », « knowledge » and « the object of knowledge » in the supreme Self. Since It is of the nature of homogeneous Consciousness and Bliss, the Self has no such distinctions within Itself. It shines by Itself.
